How Zado protects your money

Zado sees your money so it can help you with it. Here's exactly what that means, and what it doesn't.

Your bank password never touches Zado

You log in to your bank inside Plaid's secure window. Plaid is a bank-connection service that many banks and money apps use. Zado never sees or stores your username or password.

Zado can see your money, but it can't move it

Your bank connection is read-only: Zado can read your accounts, transactions and balances. It has no way to send, withdraw or transfer money from your bank.

Nothing moves without your yes

Penny, your coach, can suggest. You decide. She won't move money between your envelopes without your yes, unless you've turned on a rule that does it for you. You can turn any such rule off.

Your data stays yours

We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and don't use ad-tracking cookies. When you ask Penny something, our AI provider (Anthropic) processes it to answer you and doesn't train on it.

Locked in storage and in transit

The key Plaid gives us to read your account is encrypted before it's stored. Every connection to Zado uses HTTPS, and browsers are told to accept nothing else.

You can leave anytime

Disconnect your bank from Settings whenever you like. If you delete your account, it's removed 72 hours after you ask, and you can change your mind before then.

Try it without a bank

You don't have to connect a bank at all. Snap receipts, log cash, and talk to Penny. Connect later if and when it feels right.

What we haven't done yet

Zado hasn't had an independent security audit yet. Until it does, we hold ourselves to a written security standard, and we log every security review we run and what it found.
