What is Zado?

Zado is a personal finance application designed to help you understand and manage your money using envelope budgeting and an AI-powered coach. We're built for people whose brains work differently (ADHD, autism, anxiety around money) but anyone can use us.

Using Zado

Who Can Use Zado

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must provide accurate information when signing up
  • You're responsible for keeping your password secure
  • One person per account (no sharing logins)

What You Can Do

  • Connect your bank accounts to import transactions
  • Create budgets and track spending
  • Chat with your AI coach about your finances
  • Export your data anytime

What You Can't Do

  • Use Zado for any illegal purpose
  • Try to hack, break, or overwhelm our systems
  • Create fake accounts or impersonate others
  • Use Zado to harass, spam, or harm others
  • Resell or redistribute Zado
  • Scrape data from our service

Our Guarantee

$149 Savings Guarantee

If Zado doesn't help you find at least $149 in savings within 90 days of your paid subscription, we'll refund your subscription in full.

How it works:

  • You must have connected a bank account
  • You must have used the app for at least 30 days
  • Contact us within 90 days of your first payment
  • We'll review your savings tracker and process your refund

This guarantee applies to annual subscriptions only. Monthly subscribers can cancel anytime.

Payments & Subscriptions

Free Features

Some features of Zado are free forever, including basic envelope budgeting and limited transaction history.

Paid Subscriptions

  • Paid plans give you full access to AI coaching, bank sync, and advanced features
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel
  • You can cancel anytime from Settings > Subscription
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period
  • We don't offer partial refunds for unused time (except under our guarantee)

Price Changes

If we change prices, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance. The new price applies at your next renewal.

We Are Not Financial Advisors

Zado is a budgeting tool, not a licensed financial advisor, tax professional, or investment advisor. Our AI coach provides general suggestions based on your spending patterns, but:

  • We cannot give investment advice
  • We cannot give tax advice
  • We cannot guarantee financial outcomes
  • We are not responsible for your financial decisions

For personalized financial, tax, or investment advice, please consult a qualified professional.

Accuracy of Information

We try our best to ensure your transaction data is accurate, but:

  • Bank data comes from third-party providers (Teller) and may occasionally have errors or delays
  • Transaction categories are sometimes guessed based on merchant names
  • You should verify important financial decisions with your bank statements

Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime, but:

  • Sometimes things break (we're an indie app)
  • We may have scheduled maintenance
  • Bank connections depend on third-party services
  • We'll communicate outages as quickly as possible

Your Content

You own your financial data. When you use Zado:

  • Your transaction data remains yours
  • Your budget configurations remain yours
  • Your chat history remains yours
  • You can export everything anytime

You give us permission to store and process this data to provide the service. We don't claim ownership of your financial information.

Termination

You Can Leave Anytime

You can delete your account from Settings > Data & Privacy. We'll:

  • Delete your account data
  • Stop any active subscriptions
  • Remove your information from our systems

We Can Terminate Access

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Abuse our systems or other users
  • Don't pay for your subscription

We'll try to warn you first, but reserve the right to act immediately in serious cases.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Zado is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months
  • We are not responsible for financial losses resulting from your decisions

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do:

  • We'll update the "Last updated" date
  • For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or in-app
  • Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms

Legal Stuff

  • Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA
  • Disputes: We'll try to resolve disputes informally first. If we can't, disputes will be handled in the courts of California.
  • Entire Agreement: These terms, plus our Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between us
  • Severability: If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies
